Oven Dodo

I bought a new stove/oven last May when we remodeled the kitchen. I bought one with a warming drawer, and it has never worked. Today, my husband finally called the company to get it fixed. Here is what the guy said:

"Let me look in the manual." pause "Ok, I got it. It says to push the dail in and turn it to the desired temperature."

NO! REALLY?!?! You mean all this time I have been wishing the oven would just miraculously turn on by itself, I was wrong?

My husband says, "Yeah, we tried that."

"Oh, well then we will have to send out a repair man."

That has happened to me too! It's like the customer service people are reading from a script and have to ask the obvious questions. We had a printer that didn't work, almost right from the box, they would ask me, "so, did you see if there was any paper jammed?" I would say, THAT is the problem IT Jams the paper!! LOL

I love it!!

I was test driving a car and had a flat. I walked to someone's (kid's friend) house and got a ride back to the dealership. I explained that I had a flat and the salesperson asked "Are you sure it's a flat?" I replied "I dont know, let me tell you the symptoms and you tell me if you think it's a flat. I was driving down the road and suddenly I heard a bang, followed by flup, flup, flup, flup. I pulled out of the road and got out of the car and noticed that the rim was touching the pavement. Does that sound like a flat to you?" Did he honestly think I just abandoned the car on the side of the road for the fun of it?

Unfortunately, in his defense he has to start at the beginning. So many people have done just that simple thing...not turned on the power! I always get a kick on things when they have warnings on them...you know don't use the oven while you are sleeping, don't stick your finger into the hair dryer...things like that! But they have to do it to protect themselves from the person who does just that!

My dumb moment...I had an electric mixer, finished mixing the cake batter, took off the beaters, saw some cake batter on the handheld mixer...couldn't let that go, could I? No I had to lick it off and they were still plugged in, nice little tingle to my tongue. So electric hand mixers should have a warning...don't lick while plugged in!
