Spring has SPRUNG!

Posted in Household stuff

It was 70 yesterday and today!  What glorious days!  Yesterday we all went out in the yard and did some gardening.  My mom did some digging, and I did some planting.  I planted lettuce and broccoli.  I am so excited!  I have a bigger garden this year and I can't wait to harvest all my veggies!  It was so nice that I wanted to barbeque, but we didn't have any charcoal.  So, I packed up the kids.... in the STROLLER!!!   We walked to our local store!  I have never done that.  It is about a mile away, so not too far, but far for me!  My mom has done it before, but I have always been pregnant, and can never get very far.  My hip joints were so sore after that.

On the excercise note, I went to Curves Tues and Wed.  Thurs I went for a 2 mile walk.  I planned on going to go to Curves agian today, but after what I did today, I am exhausted!

SO, what did I do today?  Glad you asked.  I finished our landscaping blocks!  We bought the blocks two summers ago when I was pregnant with Princess C.  We did one side of our steps and it was so hard that we waited to do the other side.  And waited, and waited.  Plus, I was pregnant two summers in a row!  That didn't help.  Anyway, I got the spring bug, and went out there and did it.  I just have to have my husband haul away the extra bricks.  Those things get heavy when you have to keep lifting them, over and over.

So, here is a pick of the bricks we first did, and the lack of plants we have in them.....

Yes, those are snow shovels.  I didn't feel like moving them.  Did I mention I am beat?

Here  is what I did today:

If you look really close, you can see some green inside the bricks.  Those are my daffodils that poked up through a huge pile of dirt.  I was surprised to see them.  I already cut the flowers and brought them in the house.

Off to change stinky Baby B.

Too bad we cant use smilies on our comments I'd have one of those that has the jaw dropping. Wow, that's pretty darned impressive. I'd say that curves can wait for another, less productive, day.

Wow! That looks great! I was always afraid to tackle a project with thos bricks cuz I never had the confidence...I figured I'd get it all crooked...you did a beautiful job. And look at that gorgeous dirt...nothing but red clay here. I miss the pretty dirt in IL. Doesn't it feel good, though, to step back and look at your work??

Great job, dear daughter. You can definately do much more than I can. Very talented I would say. The Polish can-do spirit coming out too. Blessings.

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L born May 18. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
