Early American History A Literature Approach - Beautiful Feet Books
This program covers American history starting with Leif Erickson and goes through the story of the fourth of July. It covers Pilgrims, Washington, Sarah Noble and Buffalo Bill to name a few. It guides you in making a notebook. The kids color and memorize passages.
The hard thing about Early American History is the book requirements. I didn't want to purchase all the books because it would have cost too much money. My library had a few of the books, the others I had to order from other libraries. This made it difficult to stick with the program. We never had the book for a long enough time, or we couldn't do a lesson because we were waiting on the book to come in.
The program seemed a little above my son's head. We have been reading the books and learning the basics, but it guides you to be more indepth - or rather, deep. Such as the Principle of Individuality and applying it to the story we read. We have worked up to George Washington. We will probably go through this again when my 4 yo is ready to learn the basics and my 7 yo is old enough to understand the more indepth things.
