Ruler of the House

Posted in Family

My kids have gotten way out of hand.  They are constantly disobeying us.  I am really sick and tired of it.  I am putting my foot down and they will now be disaplined for each and every little offense.  Hopefully I will stay strong and be a good, mean mom.  Awhile ago, Janne posted the rules of her house.  They were good rules with scriptures to back them up.  I printed out 10 Ways to Test Your Obedience.  I have already read it to my kids, and I have to keep reminding them about it.  If only raising kids was easy.....

I can't tell you how many times I have been where you are. I would do well, then get less consistent and let things go. Then I would wake up one day and realize that my kids were ruling the house. Then it would take me 2 weeks of consistent, hard discipline to get things back in order. Now I try to keep a Christian parenting book going AT ALL TIMES to keep my head in the game.

Blessings,
Becky

Thanks for this! This is awesome. We struggle, too, with DS. He is an only, VERY strong personality, lawyer-type....We constantly revisit this day in and day out. We work on memory verses related to our tongue, our attitude, etc.
Thanks for visiting my blog, too!
I love your's. Being military, I love anything even remotely patriotic!
Blessings to you,
Janet

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L born May 18. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
