Squash Problems. Please Help!

The buds on my squash keep getting snipped off. It looks as if someone cut them off with scissors. Does anyone know what is causing it and how I can stop it?

Bugs, birds, rabbits, deer, even the family cat or dog could be the culprit... we have a lot of geese that ravage our garden each year... but thebiggest culprits around here are the deer...
Probably not much you can do about it, sorry!
