Kitchen Paint

Posted in Cleaning

We remodeled our kitchen over a year ago.  Since then, we have been putting off doing something about the walls.  We figured we would get tile for our backsplash, but when we found out that it would cost around $500, we opted for the $20 can of paint instead.  D and N really wanted to help, and me and hubby are the type of people who would rather do things ourselves for less mess and a quicker finish.  But, something strange came over us, and we decided to let them help.

Here is D:

And N:

The kids were so pleased with themselves.  I told them whenever they walked into the kitchen, they could look at their wall and know that they painted it.  We still have some finishing touches to do, like the edge by the ceiling.. yuck...  And behind the fridge.  We will finish it up today or tomorrow and then I will post before and after pictures.

I LOVE the color you picked ~ almost like the color I picked to my house less than three years ago with a little less yellow. The restrained gold color I now want to repaint my kitchen, but my husband has declared me insane.

I let my daughter help when we painted too. She was 11 ~ but has some pretty significant visual-motor delays. I thought I was nuts, but I kept telling myself it was more important that she learn the value of working and being part of a team then that I have a perfect paint job!

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 1/2 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L 1, and a new little blessing due Jan 31. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
