Homeschooling in Illinois

Missing in Action

We have been outside these last few days, enjoying the beautiful weather.   I have bins all over from my cleaning frenzy that got cut short so I could work in the garden instead.  My kids have no socks to wear because I am so behind on laundry.  It's a good thing it's sandal weather!  Poor Princess C has no sandals, so she has been wearing Baby B's socks.. hehe (shhh, don't tell).  My hubby expanded my garden, again.  He built it three years ago and has expanded it every year.  It fills up quickly.

D had to finish his school work outside, today.  I didn't want to waste my time inside waiting around for him to finish.  He really didn't mind because he likes working on his moon lapbook.  We only got to spend about an hour outside.  Out of nowhere, a cold breeze started.  The tempurature dropped about 10 degrees in 2 minutes.  It was the strangest thing.

Last night I was on the computer trying to find a place to stay in Yellowstone.  It looks like I should have done that months ago... There are no rooms at the inn.    I want to camp, but it's gonna be too cold at night to be in a tent.  I wish we had a camper.

Tomorrow is N's last day of math until the fall!  I will give him some worksheets to do in the summer, but we are putting away Saxon.  I want to start working on Passover, Easter, bugs, birds and plants, but I just don't seem to have the time for all of that!!  I did bring our Apologia bird book out of winter hibernation.  I had D work a little bit on his life list and read about migration.

Boy, I know I had alot to post about, but I can't seem to remember any of it!

I am so impressed that your son could do work while outside. See, though I love the idea of being able to homeschool outside, my kids just get way, way distracted the one or two times that we did it. How utterly neat that your son can hunker down to do a good job while being outside!

Yellowstone, eh? I have always wanted to go there, but I heard you need about a year-long reservation there. SHEESH!

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L born May 18. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
