Ice Cream Crush

Just for clarification, I didn't think my life was horrid because he spilled sugar on the floor.  It was a series of crazy events over a period of time and the topper was the fact that my post disapeared.  The sugar incident was just cute enough to post.

Anyway

Is anyone else sick of hearing the ice cream truck?  I'm about ready to beat that stinkin music player with a sledge hammer.  The scam artist...errr... guy driving the truck knows exactly where all the children are and when.  Letting out of VBS... there he is.  Practicing t-ball... here he comes.  10 children running around my block.... is that music I hear?  It's still June and I'm going crazy.  I constantly hear the music going.  Sometimes it's loud, sometimes it's soft.  But it's always going.  If you hear about a crazy mom vs ice cream truck on the news, you'll know it's me.

ROFL Oh. Man. You crack me up. I hope I don't see you on the news, girl.

And LOL about your comments on my blog. The oil lamp, I'll forgive. And my girl LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES dresses. Totally. What I meant is my relative thought that we'd be SO back in the 1800s. I don't know exactly she was talking about with that list of random items. Whatevah.

And I'm glad I'm not the only nut about movies. Seriously. I read about movies before taking my kids to them, and even then, it's SOOOO rare for them to go to a flick. We did "Curious George" way back when. And they are forever receiving gifts of DVDs from well-meaning relatives, and I'm the Mean Mommy who has to filter through it and think, "OK, a little kid is NOT being exposed to that. Not on my watch!" It can be hard sometimes, though, because our really, really good friends go to the movies all the time with their kids and see everything that's animated. And my kids don't get why I don't let them see anything just because it's a cartoon. And then I got to break out the soapbox and explain that we do things a little differently because we're Christian, so I've got to keep tabs on what they see. And then, for fun, I can always sing, "Be careful, little eyes, what you see ..."

OK. I'm in a weird mood right now. Must be the germs in the house. Kids are ill today ...

Fortunately we don't have an ice cream man in our area. I remember it being sheer torture as a kid. The ice cream man was always around and we never had money for ice cream. I heard recently of a mom that told her kids it was the music man. For many years they didn't know that truck also held ice cream.

Thanks for stopping by tonight.

So, is the ice cream guy middle eastern looking? All of the ones around here are. It is kind of strange.

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L born May 18. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
