Houses

Posted in Household stuff

We had our showing, came home, put the kids to bed, got up and went to look at houses.  That lasted all day, got home, hubby took D to his tournament game, I put the other kids to bed, two hours later, they finally actually went to bed, we woke up staightened the house for another showing (YES!  Another!) and walked to the park.  I came home, put my cucumbers in ice water to prepare them for pickling, made zuccini bread and have been sitting here on the computer for about an hour.  Phew.

I mentioned last week (or was it two weeks ago?) that I found a house we wanted.  We did put a bid on it, but the people didn't want to take a contigency.  So, we were back to looking for a house.  But before we went looking, the people who didn't want a contigency, changed their minds stating that they didn't realize what it meant.  They actually called our agent twice letting her know that they would look at our offer again.  Well, we wanted to see a house that was on 7 acres before we rebid on that house with only 2 acres.  So now we have a conundrum (sp???).   We like that one too.  There are pros and cons for both.  We will probably end up bidding on the 7 acre one.  Hubby really likes that one.  I was unsure because I had already pictured myself living in the 2 acre house.  But the more I think about it, the more ok I am about the 7 acre one.  It's just hard because both houses are smaller than what I am used to.  I wanted BIGGER.  I don't like people touching me.  I get irritated when I keep bumping into people.  I wanted to have room to moooooooove without tripping over children and animals and toys (yeah, yeah, yeah, there is plenty of moving space out in the 7 ACRES!).  Of course, if we don't sell this house, we don't have to worry about which house to move into.....

Oh. My. Gosh.

7 acres? As opposed to 2 acres? Where do you live, girlfriend? SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH. It sounds awesome, and I can so not even imagine having to make such decisions. If I had to, though, I would so go with the more land one. I love wide open spaces. Alas, I rarely see any. :-(

I'll pray for your house selling and finding!

You would have lots of room if you lock the kids outside. You could be nice and build them a little shed to sleep in. I have considered that on some days.

I will keep your situation in prayer...that would be awesome to live on 7 acres of land, Hopefully within a few years we could own our first home, I would love a huge yard and a big house, especially with #4 coming this 3 bedroom apt. will be getting a bit snug! blessings~juliet

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L born May 18. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
