B's Birthday

Posted in Family

Toddler B turned 2 on Saturday.  He is my first child who doesn't want to grow up.  If you ask him if he is two, while holding up two fingers, he will slap your hand away and yell, "NO!".  It's quite funny.
My in-laws came over for presents, cake, and dinner.  Yes, in that order.  Kinda odd, but we had to get the older kids to the church for their Christmas play.  Which is another post....
B didn't quite know what do with his first present:

But after I showed him, he got the hang of it.  Unfortunately, his birthday is before Christmas, and since he now knows what to do with wrapped presents, I don't dare put out the Christmas presents until Christmas morning.  Our closet and bedroom are overflowing with bags and boxes of presents.  It makes for very little walking space.
Here is B eating his yummy carrot cake:

And since he was the birthday boy, he got two pieces!  Hey, it was made with carrots!  And half spelt flour (sorry in-laws, but I got you!).
We gave B the cutest pajama's ever:

He loves them and tries to put them on during the day.  He also got a bunch of new puzzles, that he went through, over, and over, and over.  That is pretty much all he does all day.  I told everyone to get him puzzles.  He will be getting more for Christmas.  Yippy!
He knows his colors, some shapes, and all the letters of the alphabet.  His talking is getting so much better.  It's funny how they slowly learn words here and there and then all of a sudden, wham, one day, they are saying so much.  He is using short sentences now.  And the amount of signs he knows!  It's unreal.  That kid has the best memory ever!  He will be using signs that he hasn't seen used in months!
Princess C is really excited that B is two and can now join her in her Sunday school class.  For the last month or so, we would say something about B almost being two and C would yell out, "AND HE CAN GO IN MY CCCCLLLLLAAAAAAASSSSS!!!!"
We love you B!  Can't wait to celebrate your 3rd birthday!  (3?  YIKES!)

Us in laws aren't anti healthy flour. We don't care as long as it tastes good. And the carrot cake frosting was the most delicious of all. Did it have spinach in it? hahahaaaa

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 1/2 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L 1, and a new little blessing due Jan 31. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
