Homeschooling in Illinois

All Alone

Posted in Household stuff
They are gone.  My brother, SIL, and niece all left this morning to fly back to CA.  My mom went back to work.  And hubby is at work.  I'm all alone with 4 maniacs that call themselves children.
When my family left this morning, I decided to go into blog world for awhile to distract myself.  While I was reading everyone's blogs, my plans for the day kept changing.  At first we were going to get the house into shape and start school again.  Then we were going to only do a little cleaning and some school.  Then I thought since we all were sad maybe we would just sit around and read all day.  Then I looked at my kids who were fighting and arguing and thought that they didn't look one bit sad, so they could clean and do school.  After all, they have been without rules for 2 weeks now and are a bit out of hand.  Except N, who has been as sweet as sweet can be.  And so I went from sad to cranky.  So, we are going to clean and do school because we need order.  I need order.  And I'm not even an order kind of person.   So that's that.  The sheriff's back in town.

Ha. I was feeling tired and crabby from all the Christmassy stuff, so I had to put order in my life, too. Hence, my post today. Ahhh, organization. It gives me the illusion of SOME control. LOL No, but it does help manage stuff better. Like, you know, my mood ... ;-)

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L born May 18. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
