Worship Songs
In church Sunday, an 11 yo sang a song that she had written. It was so powerful. It was about not being ashamed to worship God. It was just so amazing. So on Monday, I talked to the kids about it, then we talked about David and read some Psalms. Then, their assignment was to write a song of praise of their own. I quickly realized that they might have trouble writing a song, so I said it can be a song, psalm, or just a written prayer. I didn't know quite what to expect, but they astounded me. They both wrote their own sweet praise songs and then they both said that maybe they would sing them in front of the church! But, they weren't too sure about it. Here is N's song, with his permission.
Lord of Lords
You are the Lord of Lords,
You are the King of Kings,
O Lord, I love you so, so, so much.
(Repeat 5x)
O Yeah!
And here is D's (he just now gave me permission to post it).
Lord I Love You
Lord I love you, I really love you,
You are the Greatest.
Lord I love you, I really love you,
You are the Highest,
Above all Kings.
(Repeat)
No One is higher than you,
No One is higher than you,
No one is higher than you,
You are the Highest.
(Repeat)
Lord I love you, I really love you.
You are the Greatest.
Lord I love you, I really love you.
You are the Highest,
Above all kings.
You are the Highest.
Above all kings.
You are the highest,
Above all kings.
They have been singing their songs for 24 hours now. It's really sweet to hear. D has a name for a second song that he plans on writing. Now he wants to be a song writer when he grows up.
