Can it be? Will it work out? Are we actually going to move this time? We have a contract on our house.
Again. I was just going to put a contract back on the last house we wanted. But nooooo.... Hubby wanted to go looking again and find a closer house to his family. Which I didn't have a problem with. I just didn't think we would find anything better than the last house. So after a tiring day of seeing the weirdest houses, we pull into the last house to look at. We pulled in the driveway:
And fell in love with the outside of the house:
And then we saw the barn:
This house, unlike the last house, is on a dead street. Not one car came by. The owners say that every evening they take a walk down the street to the "crick" and back. Yippee!! It's near a "crick"!
We didn't get pictures of everything, and I couldn't post them all anyway, I'd freeze your computer. But here are some neat things.
The kitchen:
The cabinets are so beautiful! The picture just doesn't do it justice. Where I am standing is a huge area for a table and a bay window with a gorgeous view. They people had this house decorated so beautifully. They took much effort to keep the old farm house feel. Which is what I badly wanted. The kitchen floor is ceramic, but all the other floors are original wood floors. All the doors and molding are original. Here is a built in in the dining room:
But it was the bathroom the sold me:
How can you pass that up?!
And the icing on the cake was stepping out on that front porch. Man oh man. Of course, it is smaller than I would like. It has no homeschool room or fireplace. But, it has what was most important to me. Quiet.
It is beautiful. I pray things will work out so you guys can move soon. I realize now that your mom lives with you (not sure how I missed that before). I am looking forward to meeting you all today!
I'm sold. I LOVE it. Can I come and live with you? no. that wouldn't work. You can just sell it to me when you're through with it and when we move back to the US... heheheh.
What a beautiful house! You mention that there's no homeschool room, but hey I'd use the barn. Can you imagine the mess you could make in there? LOL At the end of the day you could close the doors and have no mess to deal with in your home. :) Just kidding.
I am so glad you're okay and that the tree didn't hurt you or your things. That's got to be one scary thing to deal with. This Texas girl has only been around one tornado in my life and I didn't even see it. I only heard about it. It happened just a few miles from our house near Ft. Bliss. EEK!
Blessings on your house closing, packing, moving...etc.
What a beautiful house!!!! It is stunning and beautiful! Look at all the room outdoors to romp around in! Hope everything goes well with your closing and all...I know how stressful it all can be as we're going through it all right now! So glad your house and car were spared in the tornado! Yikes! I'm glad I was able to catch up with you and pray your move goes well.

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L born May 18. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
