Robinson Crusoe

Posted in Schooling
N loves to read.  He reads multiple books at a time.  He loves to carry them around with him.  I don't think he finishes many.  I think they don't hold his interest.  Right now his pile contains, John Sails his Boat, Children's Stories from Dickens, Eric Sterling Secret Agent, and Robinson Crusoe - Scholastic Junior Classics.  Quite the wide variety.  The difference is, he LOVES Robinson Crusoe.  He is already half way through it and he only started it a day or two ago.  He keeps coming up to me and telling me all about it.  I love it when they can find a book they enjoy that much.  I think for D's next reading book, I'm going to give him the real Robinson Crusoe and see how he does with it.  Right now he is reading Blacky Beauty and is enjoying it.
Well, I'm off to work more on my surprise today.

Oct. 16, 2008 - Robinson Crusoe

I gave James that book to read this term. We started out w/ me trying to read it to him, but he's such a visual learner that it was quite painful for both of us to do it aloud. So, I read it. Now it's his turn. He surprised me today by coming into the kitchen to tell me how much he's enjoying it now that he's got a feel for the cadence of the writing. (yay.)

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L born May 18. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
