Combine Ride

Our neighbor was harvesting his corn down the road from us and let us come on down for some rides.  What a blast!  I hope my boys grow up to be farmers.
D and N went first on the combine.

Then I took Princess C and Toddler B.  Toddler B was already in, sitting on Jim's lap.

Hubby had his turn last, and I apparently didn't take any pictures of him.  I had to go feed Lil' L, so I must not of thought of it.
Here is the view from inside.

B really loves watching the tractors, so he was thrilled to explore this one.

Here's a bit of trivia for you.  Do you know were a combine gets it's name?  Well, it combines the jobs of taking down the corn stalk, taking the corn off the stalk, and taking the kernels off of the corn.  Yeah, duh, combine, combine.  Seems so obvious once you know the answer.  Maybe you guys are smarter than me, but I'm just a city girl.

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 1/2 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L 1, and a new little blessing due Jan 31. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
