I wanted to do a study on the Olympics with my son. I thought it was a good idea, and he would enjoy it. I checked out the Magic Treehouse book about the Olympics. I took out some books about the Roman games... then, DUH! It was the Greeks, not the Romans, who started the Olympics. Oh well, the Romans can be tied into this, too. My mom printed out a mini unit study about the olympics at Amanda Bennett's Unit Studies. I was excited. But, alas, my son is not. Anything that has to do with school, he wants nothing to do with. He doesn't even like to read anymore. I have changed the way we do things, trying to make things more fun, but he still whines and complains and CRIES! I am getting so frustrated with this.
As I am typing this, my one year old is ripping apart a library book. *sigh* She is starting to be such a trouble maker... I just read Dy's post about the grooves (ruts) in life. I guess I will go look for the good in my kids.
