Today was MUCH better than yesterday. D woke up in a good mood. We started the day with Saxon Math, and he didn't complain or cry or anything. He even did the problems quickly! He did have incentive, though. The last two nights he had to go to bed early. Last night that meant he missed Royal Rangers. Tonight, Survivor starts. He did not want to have to go to bed early and miss that! He finished reading Hour of the Olympics and was able to retell it very well (which he has trouble doing). Then we looked at some pictures of past Olympians, drew a map of Greece, Greece's Flag, started a chart for the week of the current temperature in Turin, Italy (this years Olympic city), and figured out how many hours ahead of us they are (7). And after all of that, I looked around my house, and WHAT A MESS! It's a trade off, do school work, or house work. Both can never get done. But I feel alot better after reading Danelion Seeds' post. She posted about working on her children's hearts. I have to constantly tell myself that because I am so driven by wordly standards. I worry about my kids falling behind. And it's screwy because they are smart! In reality, I worry about them falling not ahead! If that makes sense. So thank you, Amy, for the encouragment.
