Today we learned a little bit about the great athlete and Olympian, Jesse Owen.  The most interesting thing to me, is his name is James C. Owens and his parents called him J.C.  When he was eight, he told his teacher his name was J.C. and she thought he said Jesse.  I signed D up for a library olympic event.  I have no clue what they will be doing, but I will find out next Sat.  I also thought that we could have our own Olympic events some time.  Get the kids outside and time them running.  Maybe even have a long jump.  I figured they would like that.  I can't wait for the Olympics to start and we can watch figure skating.  Woohoo!  I can't wait till C is old enough to put in ice skating!  Talk about living your dreams through your kids....
