Update on the Church Front

Posted in Family

I had posted a couple of weeks ago about how I was hurt by my church.  If you would like to read that, click here.  Last week (or so), my pastor and his wife finally got around to visiting us.  They walked in the door full of apologies.  They were sorry they hadn't visited yet, they were sorry only one person had given us a meal.  They said they dropped the ball.  Well, they were so nice, and they came bearing gifts, I immediatly forgave them  Besides, I wasn't mad at them, persay, it was the church as a whole I was upset with.  The pastor's wife said someone was supposed to be in charge of calling people to ask them to make us meals.  I had planned on telling them not to worry about us getting meals being that it had been 7 weeks already, but she asked, "Would you be blessed if meals were brought to you?"  Now, what can you say to that?  So we have been getting meals this week, and I think we will next week too.  These cooks have been going all out!  We have soooo much food!  And the deserts!  Oh my goodness!  We have LOTS of cookies and brownies and yummy - chocolate - peanutbutter - rice crispy bars, cake, jello....  So much for the blubber contest!  *sigh*

Yep, I would certainly not pass up that opportunity! You had asked me earlier how I got out of the house. Well, I will confess, I am a bottle feeder. Pleaseeee don't kick me off your friend's list, lol. I had trouble breast feeding all of my children and, quite frankly, I have a really bad attitude towards it. Have a great weekend!

I've been to Carbondale, IL. My dad used to live there with my sister and brother.

The ravioli recipe, I have to find it. I'm sure if I keep cleaning it'll show up. If I can't find it I'll ask my other mom.

Feb. 19, 2006 - I'm so glad!

Isn't it tough to be hurt by the Body of Christ and then to have to forgive? Yet it is so freeing. I am so glad that your pastor came over and sought your forgiveness. I have been hurt before, too, and it is hard to go back. I am so glad that God has given you the ability to forgive and move on.

Congrats on your new little one! I hope you are getting adjusted to the addition. I love having a new baby in the house!

Blessings,
Becky

About Me

Oh, the crazy things that happen in my house.... I am the wife of M for 8 years now. I am the mother of a 10 yo boy - D, 6 1/2 yo boy - N, 4 yo girl - Princess C, 2 1/2 yo boy -Toddler B, and girl Lil' L born May 18. I've been homeschooling since 2003. I lean towards a Charlotte Mason approach, but more often than not, it's "whatever works".
