We worked alot on English last week. D is not very good with verbs and nouns and such. Although, he has improved greatly. I pulled out a bunch of workbooks and gave him the sheets that had him identify the different parts of speech. We also did sheets on alphabetizing/ finding things in a dictionary, just to make sure he had that down. Awhile ago, we had bought a big book of mad libs to do with D. That is a fun way to learn parts of speech. He isn't very creative, though. But I guess that will come with time. We also did some math - I can't wait till we actually get to something that I can teach him. Since he was little, math has come so easy for him. Right now, he is just learning how to be neat, circle his answers, and write his anwers correctly (dollar signs ect... ) Next week we will focus on George Washington. At least until Thursday when we LEAVE FOR VACATION!! WOOHOO!! I can't wait. We are heading to a cabin in Colorado. I am not sure what type of school stuff I am going to bring with. However, I do know I will be bringing some stuff for St. Patrick's Day. I was informed about a unit study that can be found HERE. Last year I made a special dinner. I was yummy. You can find the recipies HERE. There are also craft ideas there. I encourage you to try it. We had alot of fun eating green. We are bringing with two boxes of cake mix. We are going to try the regular recipe, and the high altitude recipe. I got this idea from Amber.
