May. 4, 2006 - More Morels

Dan took Grandpa Phillips hunting this time...Oh what fun they had.  Grandpa found a bunch of mushrooms... 16 in all... all growing close together.  I guess that is rare.  Mansel found the first ones, then another, then another.  Tori hit the motherload.  A 7 oz. mushroom.

Just to show you how big it is -- I took a photo of it next to a "normal" size mushroom.

It's HUGE!!! Ü

It tastes the same as the others -- as it has now been eaten.  What fun to be able to create some memories with Grandparents during this short visit.  We were so blessed with them visiting again.  On the way home from IA to CO they passed a place in NE that would be great for a 1/2 way meeting place.  My mom called when they got home and said, "Wouldn't that be fun to meet 1/2 way!"  YEAH -- they just recently moved from LA to CO... 18 hours down to 10 hours away.  Horray!!!  I'm looking forward to meeting 1/2 way.  I don't get to see them enough.

If any of you prayed for the funeral -- I'm saying God answered prayer.  What a blessed thing a funeral can be if the deceased is a believer.  Rejoicing that Rodney is in heaven with Jesus.  Getting to hear a recording of Rodney telling about Jesus in his life.  Amazing the differences in funerals.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow.  Of course there is sorrow -- we will miss him here on earth... but the knowledge that we will see him again helps soothe that pain just a little bit.

Now you can pray for me.  I woke up with a sore throat yesterday.  That was a bummer.  I rememberd the garlic in the freezer last night.  I chewed up 4 cloves before bed.  The boys ended up sleeping in my room for some reason -- I started climbing over them to get into bed last night... then I thought -- well their bed is empty -- I'll just go sleep in their big bed.  Probably a good thing... I'd probably make the whole room smell like garlic.  I slept well -- but still have the sore throat this morning.  It's not terrible... just annoying.  Slight headache, stuffy nose... probably nothing a little rest won't cure.  A lot of prayer and a little rest.

Thank you,

Jennifer
