Verse for the week
Is 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shouldter: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Councellor, The mighty God, the everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace"
My, how time has flown! It is amazing that Christmas is a week from tomorrow. Is everyone ready? I just have a couple stocking stuffers to get and I will officially be done.
I will finish that up tomorrow as another lady and myself will be going shopping for a couple families that our church has decided to bless for Christmas. Last weekend a couple of the ladies from church and myself went overnight shopping and we had a really good time! We had a snack attack about 11:30...good thing for vending machines!! Diet begins right after Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have finished up my cooking as of today!
Now I will make up some tins for some people. I sent out all my packages yesterday and almost croaked at the price of sending them, but the Lord has been good to us. I enjoyed making up the goody boxes for my dh brothers and sisters, and my kids had bought their grandparents some gifts that they forgot to give them earlier. I was glad I had some CBD boxes to put them in. I'm glad I got them out yesterday, as it is snowing ALOT here today and I'm not going anywheres!
I am definately ready for school break.
This time of year, I get laxed and then I know that the boys aren't doing as much as they should be because I am so busy with everything else. My oldest has started algebra and so far, so good. I DEFINATELY understand it more now then I did at his age. After Christmas we will be adding Geography to our classes and Spanish. My youngest is playing basketball, and he's pretty good at it. They were suppose to have a game last night but due to some scheduling conflict they didn't. They haven't had a game yet, so I will be anxious to see him play in one. He really enjoys it.![]()
Our church name is changed to Steuben Baptist Church; you can check it out at www.steubenbaptist.webs.com
Friday night is our Christmas party, which are always fun! I've got a new twist on the yankee swap. (not the left, right game either)
We are also having a Christmas Eve Candle Light Service, and are praying that people will not forget the real meaning of Christmas and come and celebrate, reflect and give praise forJesus coming to this earth to save us. I think of the song "Born to Die" and how true that is. Jesus came to this earth knowing He would die for you and me. Let's all remember the real reason for Christmas...JESUS
Well, this wraps it up for me, it has been a while since I wrote, but my thoughts are with you all during this wonderful time of year. May each of your families have a wonderful, blessed Christmas!
