Wow, it is hard to believe that the school year is just about done. The boys are finishing up a book and study guide and then they are done for 2008-2009 schooling. Looking back it was a good year for schooling. I think we have finally mastered what books and things are best for our families use. I pretty much have all I need for next year, except Bible. I have really liked using Learning Language Arts Through Literature for my oldest sons Language and I will continue using that. I have to gather some of my material and post it to sell on probably Vegsource If you have never checked them out, I encourage you to. Yesterday, I went to a homeschool meeting and Homeschoolers of Maine were there. They had some stuff from their bookstore and I was able to buy a couple things needed for next year. This coming week I will be working on the boys report cards and my oldest sons transcripts for 9th grade. It's hard to believe that both boys will be in high school this coming school year.
It has rained just about all week. The first part of the week we went up North to visit my parents and to pick up the boys; the boys went up to help unload the camper and help around the house. On Wed. we arrived back home and my oldest son had to work. I can't remember if I mentioned that he works at McDonalds now. He likes it ok and it is good for him. He is suppose to be saving for Drivers Ed, but now has a couple things he wants to purchase.
Isn't that always the way! He knows though that there will be no drivers ed until he has the money to pay for it. I can't believe that it cost so much to take the class! What a beautiful day it turned out to be today! I suspect that might be why church was low!
My husband jokingly said this morning "we should stay home and get the garden in because it's going to rain tomorrow" Of course I laughed, knowing he didn't mean it, but the sad part is, is that is exactly what some did! After church, we barbecued some sausage and turkey burgers, then we all worked in the garden a bit, then I came into rest, but couldn't, so my oldest son and I went on a bike ride. We were able to visit with a family that didn't make it to church this morning on our ride.
I was given this book this morning called "Laughter is Divine" and there are some funny sayings in it, sad thing is , is that some of them are true! Here's one "Some People are always looking for a new church....to stay home from! Another is "Life is like Hide- and - Seek, you 're either seeking or hiding from God." I like this one "If you want a better pastor, PRAY for the one you have!" and one more "God can fix anything (and he doesn't use any duct tape!)
Well that brings you up to date and it hasn't been a month!!! Hope you all are well!
