My alma mater hosts the world's largest Scavenger Hunt. It lasts four days, involves hundreds of people, the "Scav Hunt Olympics", a road trip, and a list of 300 items, many of them crass or impossible. (This year's hunt included a Zeusaphone, a Tessla coil digitized to play music, a road trip to Kansas, and getting Barak Obama's haircut from Barak Obama's barber. One team achieved the Zeusaphone. I don't know how many achieved the haircut.) Reading about the Scav Hunt brought back all sorts of memories and inspired me to make a Family Scavenger Hunt for our family vacation. Each team had two hours, a car, $20, and a camera, and tried to take as many of the photos on the list as possible. Here's a selection of items from our list: With a pirate Making a pyramid in the sand With a representative of the each following animal groups: Crustacean, Mammal, Bird, Reptiles, Fish At a historic site involving malaria On a bridge With a person with a toothless grin With a golfer At court At as many churches as possible Sharing the most delicious dessert With one team member as a sand sculpture Sliding With everyone’s toenails painted |
