Okay...

It's new years so who hasn't sat down to make a few goals?

I need to sit down and make some REALLY serious goals...

However hubby and I have been waiting for this day to implement some changes in our food LIFESTYLE.

We are not "dieting" we are truely chaning HOW/What we eat...FOREVER.

Some of our big changes in Phase 1 (We decided to take baby steps and slowly add more when needed) include:

- Purchasing no more WHITES-  No more white sugar or white flour

- Purchasing nothing with HYDROGENATED in the ingredients..(this was an interesting grocery trip...reading all the labels carefully)

- Olive oil and butter only

-  Drink 1/2 body weight in oz!!

-  Fish 1x a week

- Beans 1-2x a week

-  Salad to start lunch and dinner

- Serve plates from the stove to the table...no more bringing the pots/pans to the table!

SO there it is...  My hardest thing will be the water and the salads.

Today we started the salads for lunch...I had tons of veges cut up and ready to go for the boys to try at their leisure..and as we were experiementing with a few things I had a bit of an ah-ha moment.

I really DREAD lunch time...I don't like making lunch...never have but I think I may purchase one of those vege trays (like Tupperware sells) and have this ALWAYS ready to go (vs. the 8-10 separate tupperware I had to lug out) and then around lunch time I will sit 1 or 2 of these trays out for some "grazing" one will be full of veges, one will have some cheeses, and maybe some nuts/fruits in it.  This seems like it may solve my delima of "making lunch" and also will be a nice treat.  So we'll see...this is my "PLAN" for now.

Oh and lastly.. someone on a board I post on shared this...its free and I entered my food for today...VERY EYE OPENING!!  Check it out:   Fitday

I'll be back to post some more "goals" for our family and myself personally in 2008.  It may be a few days... I need to really think/ponder/pray about this and with everyone JUST getting over our illnesses yesterday I haven't had time...

You have a lot planned for phase one! The hardest part for me would be cutting out white sugar - we go through at least a gallon of sweet tea each day here! I know, that sounds really bad, doesn't it? But with 7 people, it's not as much as it sounds like. I would just like to offer you one suggestion - use coconut oil in addition to the olive oil and butter. Coconut oil is very good for you.
