Clean Your Room....

On most days "Cleaning your room" appears on SOMEONE's chore chart.  (never on both...they do better 1 at a time, so they rotate days).  Well...i see I have not been 'tough' enough...  because this is what I saw today AFTER they were done cleaning....

AND this....
Now granted my "rules" for cleaning your room include:  NOTHING ON THE FLOOR!! (not a happy mom when I step on a little civil war guy).  Bed made (or atleast a good attempt..both beds are against the wall which makes it a bit difficult).    So the above is wht I found... the floors were "clean" the beds were not...which would normally be a discipline issue...but NOT TODAY...today we tackled this room.  (Bedrooms are actually NEXT week's zone...but we got a head start)

First:
Strip the beds and get the sheets and things headed to the basement...
Then... we keep all their toys in plastic tubs....however each tub is to hold its own contents...not a mixture of EVERYTHING... so how did we remedy this?  We started from scratch!!
And SLOWLY put each item in the CORRECT box:
Then we straightened up the closet....(even the top...where mom was putting some things to deal with later... LATER had arrived!!)  No pic here...sorry.
So after sweeping the floor and taking care of the dresser this is how we left it...(sheets still in the washer/dryer):
and
TADA...
Now in the coming days...I'm going to have to inspect MUCH closer!!

aaah! I love clean and organized. I cleaned out my Tupperware cabinet this week! That was so cathartic!

Jan. 19, 2008 - I did the same thing today

Posted by Victorious
My 2 little girls are spending the night with my parents so I used today to clean out their bedroom. They are not supposed to have toys in there at all - they go out on the patio - but of course there were some in there and a huge tub of dress up clothes dumped out on the floor, their laundry baskets dumped out on the floor, dirty laundry on the floor ... it took me ALL DAY to get it clean and organized. Of course I also had my big boys help with moving the furniture - I moved out the dresser and moved in some organizers for the closet. After the laundry is done I am going to sort out their clothes and get rid of some. I figure the fewer clothes, the less laundry I have to do. Next up is the boys' room ... of course they are old enough to clean it themselves but it's turned into a major discipline issue.
