Just a bit of an update...

This morning I read this entry from Keeping the Home regarding Childrens Stations, I really like this idea.  I do/did have a similar idea, but I need to get back to using it.  Ours is an old coffee can with pieces of paper that the boys can pick out and do THAT activity for 30minutes. (they must do different activites.....but I like her ideas, the exercise video would be a BIG hit here!!  Hmmm need to begin using that coffee can vs. videos (educational or not....).

and some samples include:  Super Mind Game and Legos

Hmmm  Well Stephen prefers regular ol' rice cereal with formula vs. delicious apple sauce or even apple sauce mixed in...  We need to begin adding in some changes here..

Well a board I frequent (probably too often) had a LARGE entry on the South Beach Diet... I've heard of it but never knew ANYTHING about it...so I bit...and read about it.. pretty interesting, I think we (Jason and I) will be starting a version of this...  (we will NOT be using articifical sweetners, lunch meat or margarine.... we 've come to far to go back to these items).  However we will begin phase 1 maybe tomorrow.  Phase 1 will be MEAT/PROTEIN, VEGE, DIARY... basically it really cuts out fruit and starches for 2 weeks...to detox... It sound a bit rough, but just may be what I need to stay out of my "stash".

(yes these are some chocolate chips that are kept frozen in the freezer....shhhh don't tell)

Here are a few links if you are curious (MOM...)  It really is close to a regular ol' WHOLE FOODS diet...at least those are the foods we will be using...and in 2 weeks adding in SLOWLY fruit and WHOLE WHEAT grains...  Foods to Avoid on Phase 1- (2 weeks)  and Foods to ENJOY on Phase 1 (2 weeks).  I will post what EXACTLY I/WE eat and I'm sure will do my sugar detox whinning here... (that's your warning..  ).

I also can't believe how well our NEW schedule is working...I was a bit worried about doing school in the afternoon, but it is actually going better than before.  We do our reading (curled up on the couch) and then off to table work.    The only negative thing about our new schedule is...  I haven't had a nap or QT YET!!  That is a bit okay thought becuase I am feeling less tired...HERE COMES the 2nd TRIMESTER!!!

Well the boys are waking...better go!!  Have a great day
