So where are you?

Great are the works of the LORD;
       they are pondered by all who delight in them.

Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
       and his righteousness endures forever.

He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
       the LORD is gracious and compassionate.

He provides food for those who fear him;
       he remembers his covenant forever.

Psalm 111:2-5

 Praise the LORD.
       Blessed is the man who fears the LORD,

       who finds great delight in his commands.

His children will be mighty in the land;
       the generation of the upright will be blessed.

Wealth and riches are in his house,
       and his righteousness endures forever.

Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
       for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.

Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely,
       who conducts his affairs with justice.

Surely he will never be shaken;
       a righteous man will be remembered forever.

He will have no fear of bad news;
       his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.

His heart is secure, he will have no fear;
       in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.

He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor,
       his righteousness endures forever;
       his horn  will be lifted high in honor.

 The wicked man will see and be vexed,
       he will gnash his teeth and waste away;
       the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

Psalm 112

  You who fear him, trust in the LORD—
       he is their help and shield.

 The LORD remembers us and will bless us:
       He will bless the house of Israel,
       he will bless the house of Aaron,

 he will bless those who fear the LORD—
       small and great alike.

 May the LORD make you increase,
       both you and your children.

 May you be blessed by the LORD,
       the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 115:11-15

Like a bad tooth or a lame foot
       is reliance on the unfaithful in times of trouble.

Proverbs 25:19

So where are you at with all that is going on in the world?  I am being easily burdened--and a bit worried--  Thankfully little girl had me up EARLY today and I sat down to read my Bible and the above verses were today's reading---  how appropriate they seemed to be (to me).

I've had a few minutes to breeze thru a few sites-- many who are offering "advice" on what to begin to prepare for the worse (which I do agree IS COMING / HERE!!) but that can be very overwhelming for me-- (I did buy a few extra bags of beans and canned goods today at the store--not that it would make THAT much of a difference--but my flesh took over--and my bill showed it)

I have a list of "I wishes" right now-- i wish we OWNED our home (not rented--) I wish we WERE debt free-- I wish-- I wish-- that won't get me anywhere-- I must put my trust in the Lord-- I must--

The LORD is my strength and my shield;
       my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
       My heart leaps for joy
       and I will give thanks to him in song.

Psalm 28:7

But I trust in you, O LORD;
       I say, "You are my God."

Psalm 31:14

Why should I fear when evil days come,
       when wicked deceivers surround me-

those who trust in their wealth
       and boast of their great riches?

Psalm 49:5-7

The righteous will see and fear;
       they will laugh at him, saying,

 "Here now is the man
       who did not make God his stronghold
       but trusted in his great wealth
       and grew strong by destroying others!"

  But I am like an olive tree
       flourishing in the house of God;
       I trust in God's unfailing love
       for ever and ever.

Psalm 52:6-8

You will keep in perfect peace
       him whose mind is steadfast,
       because he trusts in you.

  Trust in the LORD forever,
       for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.

Isaiah 26:3-4

Cast your cares on the LORD
       and he will sustain you;
       he will never let the righteous fall.

But you, O God, will bring down the wicked
       into the pit of corruption;
       bloodthirsty and deceitful men
       will not live out half their days.
       But as for me, I trust in you.

Psalm 55:22-23

Well I'll stop there-- but I encourage you if you are feeling a bit unsure or worried about what tomorrow will hold-- SEARCH our the RICHES of God's Word-- wanna do it quick??--I love to do word searches and end up chasing LOTS of new ideas from THIS site...it's great--topic index or whatever--

And if you are not sure why anyone would be upset or worried-- WAKE UP!!!  I have talked to a few people in the past few days that really must be living in a bubble-- with the election and the stock market alone--they have NO IDEA---they think life is just "dandy"!!

Won't turn this into a political discussion--but wow--do we HAVE to have an election RIGHT NOW-- seems like bad timing-- seems like bad choices!!!

Well once again this entry is more for me-- just a rant--just a reminder (for myself) of who is in CONTROL!!!  (some of these verses will end up on my refrigerator by tomorrow evening)

Those are excellent verses! I have been a little nervous lately, also, trying to figure out the best options... what to do with our retirement funds, wondering if I should be saving garden seeds, etc. I've spent some time emailing my dad today, asking him questions about his retirement funds. Tomorrow, our financial agent is supposed to give us a call and I have a list of questions written down to ask her. I'm like you... we need to be aware of what's going on and pray that God will guide us to make wise choices during this time of upheaval and uncertainty.
