I am thankful for...
My husband who really does PAMPER me--  I am so grateful for him!!
We were just talking the other day if a few plans would've changed maybe we would not have ended up married--  WOW-- that truly is a SCAREY thought for me....

From the Kitchen
Ummm well--  I am in a nesting mood when it comes to food!!
My 50lbs of WW Flour, 50 lbs of Oats, 50lbs of Sucanat (sugar) and 30lbs of Raisins have arrved-- and are in their buckets-- the flour I actually put in the chest freezer-- forgetting how quickly it will lose its nutrients if left at air temp.   Next time I am going to buy wheat berries as dh has insisted I get a grain mill-- so that the grain will hold longer and also be fresher and healthier.     The raisins have posed a bit of problem-- I didn't realize how much 30lbs was-- and I also thought they could be stored in the air tight containers-- I now realized they can be stored at air temp for about a amonth-- the rest should be refridgerated!!   I think we are going to try to "seal" them in those Food Saver bags-- and see how that does...
I did get some things made and frozen this week--  I made ?# of banana breads (12 I think), I made 9 Zucchini breads, 2 batches of WW Blueberry pancakes,  9 gallon freezer bags of sliced peaches, 9 Quart freezer bags of shredded zucchhini!!  (the only problem with making Zuchhini bread is that each batch takes an HOUR to bake)... so I made 3 double batches and froze the rest.

There is a chicken in the crockpot cooking down (not exactly sure what I am going to do with it-- but it will hopefully be made into 2 frozen casseroles    soups.   I am also hoping to try and freeze 3 (1 done)  batches of different granola, and 3-4 batches of bread.  That may be the end of my STOCKING UP-- we'll see....
I figure breakfasts are going to be the toughest to get on the table with a new baby-- with having to nurse and feed 2 other littles pretty early...  Dinner can easily be thrown into the crock pot-- and lunches will be SANDWICHES and soups.... (hmmm maybe I need to make a few soups and freeze them-- that will be easy enough-- )

I am wearing ...

Oh I am a sight to be seen today--   terribly ugly green materninty shorts, and a EVEN MORE TERRIBLY UGLY maternity tank top-- oh it is REALLY UGLY!!!

I need to order a few books so we can then start our BIG unit on Colonial America AFTER the baby arrives--  I plan on lots of READ ALOUDS
Oh and I snagged a Geosafari game for $10 and a Geosafari Talking Globe for $10!!    Between this and the new Geography club with our co-op I'd say Geography is taken care of!!

I am thinking...
WOW-- 4 more weeks-- or maybe only 2--  I am really getting excited-- and anxious!!
***

Around the Hobby Farm

The meat chickens are doing well-- and our layers are finally picking up on their egg production!!  (I was beginning to get a bit discouraged with 20 laying hens and only 4 eggs a day!!)
The grass is a priority this week... and the boys pulled one PERFECT grape off the vine yesterday--- so we'll need to keep an eye on them!!!   THEY WILL BE READY THIS WEEKEND
