Feb. 16, 2006 - Magician's Nephew...
I still can't believe that K and I are just about done with this first Narnia book. Now all the old stuff that I remember reading as a kid from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe makes sense. The Lamp post and the Wardrobe are big ones for me. We still have 2 chapters left but I did read ahead a bit so I know generally what happens. K is even enjoying it too. His dad is usually the one he wants to read to him at night but since we've been reading Magician's Nephew, he wants me to read to him. I don't mind at all. K can't wait till we start reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe next. We've gotten it from the library so we can start on it immediately!

What a great Mom you are! K is blessed to have such a loving caring woman he can call "Momma!" Keep up the reading. . . he'll grab onto the idea and when he does, if he's anything like my daughters were when they were his age, he'll be lost in books in no time. I remember promising S a new book every time she'd finish one book and give us an oral book report. She would proceed to read the book and tell us in detail, at the dinner table, the story she'd just finished. After buying her a few more books, we soon decided to introduce her to the local library! Way to go mommainoregon, you're doing great.
