Celebrate His Birth, A Nativity Ballet, Tacoma, WA

M E T R O P O L I T A N B A L L E T O F T A C O M A
5435 SOUTH TACOMA WAY TACOMA, WA 98409
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR DAMARIS CAUGHLAN
November 10, 2009
Greetings!
Please join us in inviting others to our free Nativity Ballet,
Celebrate His Birth, choreographed to tell of the Savior’s
birth. There will be three performances at Curtis High
School Theatre, December 5th at 2:00 p.m. and
8:00 p.m., and December 6th at 2:00 p.m.
MBT will gratefully accept good will donations for
theatre costs at the performances, but our true intention
s to gift others with this special performance. My hope
and desire is to not only have family and friends come
to see our dancers, but to use this ballet to reach out
to the community and touch those that do not
know the Lord.
Tickets are available now. We ask that you come to the
studio to get your tickets. If you have a large group of 20
or more, MBT will mail them to you.
My hopes for this year’s production of Celebrate His Birth
John 3:30 says, "He must increase, I must decrease."
This is a passage in the Bible where John the Baptist
was speaking of himself decreasing and Jesus increasing.
Disciples of John the Baptist were going over to Jesus and
they were jealous. John the Baptist knew his position and
that it was to be a light pointing to Christ.
Have you ever lost focus of what you were doing, or been
so focused on something else that your true aim gets lost?
My aim for Celebrate His Birth is that it is a ballet that brings
glory to God, and is done so with grace and humility.
Everyday, I should be remembering that I need God to
get me and MBT there. My hope is that this Nativity Ballet
helps others come to know God and hear of the Good News.
Please pray: that I and MBT are like a candle decreasing as
God's light increases, that my aim and focus stay true, and
that God will use the ballet in a powerful way.
Please pass this letter on to friends, family and church!
Sincerely,
Damaris Caughlan

It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
And to sing praises to Thy name, O Most High;
To declare Thy lovingkindness in the morning,
And Thy faithfulness by night,
With the ten-stringed lute, and with the harp;
With resounding music upon the lyre.
For Thou, O LORD, hast made me glad by what Thou hast done,
I will sing for joy at the works of Thy hands.
How great are Thy works, O LORD!

(Psalms 92:1-5)

Circle C Adventures, BOOKS TO GIVEAWAY

NEWS FROM THE "RANCH" FOR NOVEMBER 2009:

From Susan Marlow, author of wholesome books for kids,
teacher and veteran homeschooling mom in
Washington State!

A giveaway for E-zine subscribers only!

HOWDY!

It's been three months and I’ve decided it’s time for another
giveaway. A Journey Through Learning sent me a number
of their fantastic lapbooks to use in a few “gift sets” of
Circle C Adventures books. I thought a drawing would be a
nice idea as we get closer to Christmas. And speaking of
Christmas, CBD offers a great deal on the set of four CCA books,
even better than what I can offer on my website.
If you’re interested, go here:
CBD

Also, I just created a book trailer previewing
Book 5, Andrea Carter and the Trouble with Treasure.
The book is due to be released in February.
I’d love it if you took a peek at the trailer.
Just click here:

TROUBLE WITH TREASURE TRAILER
.

OK, now on to the drawing! I have books and lapbooks available

for these three books:

Andrea Carter and the Long Ride Home

Andrea Carter and the Dangerous Decision

Andrea Carter and the Family Secret

(Sorry, I don’t have any lapbooks left
for Andrea Carter and the San Francisco Smugglers).

To enter the drawing, all you have to do is reply to this e-zine,
telling me which book/lapbook set you’d like to win.

I’ll draw the winning email “reply” next Friday, November 20th.
I will then contact the winner for their mailing address.
If you would like to know who won, you can email me for
the winner’s name after next Friday.

Good luck and hope to hear from you soon!

2009 Benefit Dinner Discipling the Next Generation
by Jay and Heidi St. John

"A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher."  Luke 6:10

People often ask us why we are so passionate about supporting homeschoolers.  Our answer is simple:  because today's parents are discipling the next generation.  As we said last week, education is discipleship.  It matters.  God's word says that when students are through with their education, they will be like their teachers.

In a culture of moral relativism, homeschooling parents are making a difference.  They are having an impact on the social and spiritual landscape of the next generation.  It is our desire that pastors would seize this opportunity and support homeschooling parents.  That's the heart behind the work we do at First Class Homeschool Ministries.

First Class is more than a wonderful, well-organized homeschool co-op program.  It's not simply a "how-to" book on running a co-op or an amazing online database.  It is a life-changing ministry that is helping churches offer real, tangible suppot tomhomeschooling parents as they train and nurture the next generation in the ways of the Lord.

These families are doing an amazing work.  We hope you'll catch the vision, too, and join us in our our efforts to make ministry to homeschooling families a priority for churches everywhere.

Request an information pack from FCHM on how you can start or become an FCHM co-op by

Jay and Heidi St. John have six children who range in age from 4 to 18.  Their desire to see churches reach out in support of homeschooling families prompted them to found First Class Homeschool Ministries.   For more information on First Class or to contact the St. Johns, please send feel free to send them an email or call 360-326-8826.
transparent background  2009 Benefit Answers Prayer
Struggling Economy Doesn't Matter to God!

As we planned this year's FCHM Benefit it was our prayer that the Lord would help us share our vision in a clear and direct way that people would understand.

The Lord answered the prayer that our vision would resonate with those in attendance, and approximately 50 families made  pledge commitments totaling more than $2000 monthly. By working together for a common, God-inspired purpose those 50 families have made it possible for us to hire our first-ever FCHM employee.

Those who attended the Benefit met Nicole Swaim who is now working 25-hours a week in our US-Digital Outreach Center offices. We are so grateful to the Lord and to those who committed to make this milestone possible and we pray that the Lord will richly ble
2009 Benefit Dinnerss each family whose pledge helped answer our prayers.

Nicole's work is vital as she is the primary support for the dozens of FCHM volunteers.

Thank you for helping us support homeschooling families everywhere!
