Sep. 1, 2008 - Gustav is a No Show

Gustav decided not to visit our little corner of Texas. We had some clouds and a breeze today but that was it. It worked out well that we did not leave. A lot of people did leave. Almost all of the businesses were shut down. One grocery store was open yesterday. There was a holiday atmosphere there. Everyone was so relieved that the storm wasn't going to get us. People are beginning to come back home today.

We had scheduled to start our first day of school tomorrow. I thought all of our plans were going to be changed but now we can start. Daughter has a sore throat so she may not feel like doing much but she can do some. My throat feels a little scratchy but that may just be smpathy pains.

We're praying for all those who were in the path of the storm.
