Dec. 7, 2008 - Teens
Our homeschool group has started a group for the middle school and high school kids. We have always had a hard time getting something started for this age group. My son was in first grade when this group started and he and his friends have grown up in the group. I really didn't want it to end for them. We had a Christmas party with a white elephant gift exchange. They started out kind of quite but before it was all over the loud and happy. We are now trying to think of ideas for the rest of the year. I would really like to have a Super Bowl party in Jan. but we will have to have a place with a large screen TV.
If anyone has any ideas or would like to share what has worked for them, please comment!

I'm glad it went well! Just watch out for the half time and commercials if you have that SuperBowl party. I hear they can be pretty rough!!!

Dec. 10, 2008 - A few ideas....
I don't have teenagers yet, but I have 3 younger brothers (5, 10, and 11 years differences). While they are in their twenties now, I remember all too well the aggravation my mom had trying to keep them busy with good clean fun. One idea is if you have a lot of yard, you can have a good, "clean" paintball war. Paintball equipment can probably be found second hand at garagesales or on Craigslist. You may even be able to rent the equipment. Either way, you can have a 6-8 week tounament. Each week the winner gets a prize and at the end they all get a pizza party or some other kind of fun celebration. Another idea is to have a community spring cleaning. Have them go out in a group and organize cleaning people's yards for free. Hope this helps! And I hope all is well!!!!!
