So tonight is more fun than a barrel of monkeys at our house. The boys are giving the little ones rides, like they are horses. The thrilling part for the littles is that they can "spur" their horses, which just sends little thrills of sadistic joy up and down their spines. So one of the boys was deliberately dumping his rider, so Daddy made him kiss her toes so she would stop crying....lol....he told her to give him the "big ol' fungus nail".....not that she actually has a fungus nail, but it was hysterically funny at that moment.
Yeah. I know. We need a life.
So, anyway, we are getting back on track with table time. Except the 5 y.o. We'll have to work on that. The boys are enjoying computer class and dreading math every day. I am making them take the 7th grade proficiency (w/Ohio standards) and they are NOT happy about it. For crying out loud, it's open book! But, yeah, they are behind in some areas. They rock in consumer math, but *ouch* the algebra and geometry definitely need help. We are seriously looking at options like Calvert. This year's text book is Saxon, but we don't really care for it. I have heavily supplemented with online study, printable worksheets and curriculum items I have created with every day practicality in mind (like balancing a checkbook, calculating interest, comparison shopping, etc). Well, it is late, almost bedtime & I have too many distractions. |
