Kids, Kids and More Kids

Whew...busy days, busy days :)  We got alot accomplished here on the Cookie Jar Ranchero today...lol  More cleaning, moving furniture and such.  I am just so pleased with what all we have accomplished. And after today, only nine days until Mom comes home!  We are all very excited!!!

So, I think I have mentioned in a previous post or two that we are TTC.  Well, we are looking into adoption as well, but leaning more towards older children in the adoption area.  There is such a need for families to adopt especially older children.  So many kids are aging out of the foster care system - it is a national tragedy.  Just so many kids in the world in general, it is heartwrenching really.

Come Lord Jesus & end the suffering on this wretched planet! - Amen to that?!?!!!

But on a personal level, we have had foster kids, although only one time, with a sibling group of five.  So anyway, here recently, we have been searching photolistings.  We have identified 15 potential children that we are interested in.  There is one sibling group of five and the rest are individual.  The sibling group are ages 6, 5, 4, 2 and 1, so a very young group of children, but simply beautiful.  The other kids are all teenagers, but the descriptions of each child just sound like wonderful matches with our family, our lifestyle, interests, etc.  So, it has been a while since we did anything with DFS & the like , so we are looking at different agencies to do an updated homestudy.  We are hopeful that our "transitional stage" here won't last long...lol....read: that our house financing goes on through soon and we can start building or find one big enough for us at a price we can realistically afford.

Speaking of which, the housing market in the country is astounding.  Homes here are dirt cheap compared to alot of areas.  I watched one of my favorite shows last night, "What You Get For The Money" and they were showing little 1500 sq ft. townhomes in the northeast (Delaware I think) for like 800 big fat ones.......HOLY STROMBOLIS!!!!!!  That's almost a MILLION bucks people!!!!!!  Do they use alot of crack when they come up with these prices???? Because that's about where it'd be here!!!!

Anway, I am quite the babbling fool tonight but really have a glob of things to get done, so I am gonna close this post....lol....uhm, for now anyway! I might be back later on tonight - who knows?

Blessings!

OK - PS....I just had to add this....reading this ^^^^^  above sounds ridiculously dizzying, but I think you know how it is - it sounds more than what it actually is in real life.  As far as TTC or adoption, the Lord has just really impressed it upon us to build our family.  And we have both felt, through prayer, careful thought and consideration, and discussion - that it is pleasing to God to both submit to Him to bless us biologically with as many children as He will, but also that we both feel strongly impressed about providing a loving home for children already alive and in need of parents.  So, it will be some time before we actually have "new additions" to our family -- it will be in the Lord's time -always in His timing, never ours. Whatever we do, we do to and for, the glory of God.

*grin*

Ya feel me? :)

I can't tell you how excited I was to read this entry. There are so many teens that need adopted...even kids as old as 17! We too have been called into that ministry and it has been wonderful and hard and we have seen many find a life in Christ. I will be praying for you as you step out in faith in this area. You'll need much prayer!

Feb. 20, 2007 - Kids are better!

Posted by Fringey

Hi - we are living an amazing life- so blessed...we run month to month and could do better-but life is short! :) Reading your post about wanting more kids is amazing- my husband couldn't handle all those kids. We are up there in age ourselves and looking at retirement with one at home. Housing here is through the roof (although recently I think it is coming down a little) 500,000 gets you a 40 yo track home with no backyard. A friend bought a townhome with a large patio last year for 400K. yikes. If we had not bought when we did we couldn't live where we live. And we are looking out of state for retirement in 2 years-unless something changes (and only God knows that) . The horse is awesome! Our other 2 are for sale as my youngest daughter can't handle them yet and I don't want to feed them for just me. my, I am babbling! Hope all goes well with home finding and filling! ps what does TTC mean? Blessings!
