We took advantage of Matinee Tuesday at Flagship, today to see Horton Hears A Who. I have been reading this book to my sons since they were both in cribs.
Although there are some negative comments out there because the kangaroo that "pouch schools" her joey is harsh, I beg to differ. God bless America that we can all have our opinions!
All in all the story is genuine to Dr. Seuss' version. It has a wonderful, Christian message. Even my 6 year old picked up on that. It's still a wonderful tale about having faith in someone you have never seen. IE: God! Even to the very end Horton does not give up his faith and even comforts the harsh kangaroo. I believe this movie has too many good points not to go see it or at least rent the DVD when it comes out.
And heck, how many times do we get treated to a rated "G" movie that kids AND parents enjoy? I found myself shouting along with my son, "We are here, we are here, we are here!!" And parents, we get treated to an old favorite, for your kids of the 80's! |
