I have some friends who have a houseboat and every year during the Christmas season their boat is decked out with about a million lights.  It must take half of forever to get them all hung correctly.  I asked them once if it was expensive to have all the lights on all the time.  They said to keep the lights on just overnight is almost $500.00 a month.  YIKES!  That's as much as we pay for electricity in our home for 3 months.  I went on to tell them that there is an alternative to regular Christmas lights.  In the Tech-world, the new buzzword is "LED Lighting."  You can see and hear about it everywhere.  Well, there is something new in the LED world.  It is rope lighting.  LED rope lighting, while a little on the expensive side, is well worth the money because they will last for 50,000 hours!  They consume very little energy, at only about .47 watts per foot.    The LED rope lighting is sold in bulk and can be cut to specific length desired. This lighting is  great for sculpture decoration, building outlines, step lighting, handrails, displays, window and architectural highlighting, decks, patios, gazebos, boats, RVs, and more.
