Our Journey

• Dec. 18, 2005 - Driving and driving....

Have you ever noticed when you go driving that people around you act consistantly based on the area where you live?

We just moved to Washington.  Today I had to drive 80 minutes from our home to the airport.  I don't DO ferries.  Sooo, we left very very early so we could get my husband at 8 am.  People in Washington do the strangest thing when there is ice on the road.  They couple!!

Yup, they couple.  (Okay, no dirty thoughts there.)  I'm guessing that these people don't "know" each other, as they don't stay together.  Eventually, someone leaves their group and that car becomes apart of another group.  Making a three-some or a four-some.

Now, my only personal driving experence with ice and snow has been in Las Vegas (where they are flakes--the people not the snow kind), South Carolina (where they are just out of their MIND), Upstate New York (where they thought _I_ was out of my mind...and I think the people who live there "forever" are mad from frostbite!), Oregon (where the majority of people really have no clue how to drive when there is snow and ice), and now Washington (I'm reserving judgement).  So, bearing that in mind:

In New York if you follow someone or someone is following you for any length of time, people wig out.  "Eeeeek, someone is following me.  AHHHHH, they are 'stalking' me!  I'd better slow/speed up so they'll leave me alone."  Why are people so paranoid in Upstate New York??

Why do they "couple" in Washington?

Why do I care??

Okay, I'll get away from my musing...

We picked Allen up and his flight was okay.  Lonnnnnngg, but okay.

The kids were soooo excited to have Daddy home that they wouldn't leave him alone the whole day.  Snicker, poor man almost couldn't go potty alone.  Welcome to my world!

Now, the cats on the other hand wanted nothing to do with him.  Assani finally remembered him, but Sabia thinks he's a 'big, mean, evil man person'.

I was finally able to get the last of my Christmas shopping done.  Ugh, there is nothing like trying to go Christmas shopping for the kids WITH the kids!  I should have just purchased online!  Next time I think I will.

Now if I just can't get over this nasty flu crud.  I had a fever for most of the morning, but it finally broke at lunch time.  BUT, the body aches SUCK!!
