We started homeschooling again yesterday. I figure I'll do 1/2 days for this week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Then, come Monday we'll be back to full force.
Yesterday went okay.
Ky did spelling, phonics, read a book to me, and math.
Math is going really well. We back tracked a bit and are going to review multiplication facts of 2's and 3's for this week before starting division of 2's and 3's next week. He had a momentary hiccup before remembering what he learned prior to starting Christmas break, but is doing well.
Phonics and reading is still a struggle. He does well while actually processing the reading, but is convinced that he can't read. Don't quite know what to do about that other than to just chug on and wait until it clicks.
Spelling is going really well, we're sticking with very basic 1st grade work so he doesn't get frusterated while learning to read. His problem word this week is duck.
Lori only did math and phonics yesterday and other than an attitude problem during phonics she did fine.
Math is beginning addition and she loves it! Numbers 1 - 10 in addition problems with pictures and with out. She actually does better when there are no pictures to side tract her. She starts subtraction next week.
Phonics is going really really well!! She read the sentence: The big pig can zip.
Today on the other hand was a very very short homeschool day. Bonus to homeschooling, if Mommy is tired and crabby and doesn't want to do school....she can shorten the day!!!
Lori did phonics and did really well, once she got past the attitude of not wanting to do it. She read: Get the quiz. and It is as big as the hat Dad has.
I am wondering if Lori needs glasses though, she is having a hard time reading from the OPG phonics book.

Response: I'm glad that you are taking your time on deciding what to do regarding your sons and TS'ing. It's a step and if it is right for you, you have to think and consider first. Then jump!!
I'll be here...or there LOL!
