May Day Challenge

I lost 1.5 lbs.   I am not sure how accurate that is, my scale is not very good.

Walked = 3 days

Water goal reached =3 days.

This has been a hard week to start this.. ….. Uh is that an excuse coming out of my fingers??

Where I failed

First I didn’t really have very many good food choices in my house. I live far enough out of town that running to Safeway was not an option. So I did the best I could with what I had but….. well…. not enough variety of healthy foods made for many little snacks that weren’t needed.

Light bulb moment!!  If I don’t have any fresh fruits or veggies, then not only am I not eating them, neither are my boys. Hmmmmm.... may be a side benefit if the family gets healthier too.

I went to a Pampered Chef party last night. I knew that temptation would be high. I ate before I went, I agreed with myself that I would  "try a small taste" of whatever they made. I should have known better. They made a yummy green salad with lots of different veggies and chicken. So far so good. Then came the MAIN EVENT. Dessert with coolwhip, fruit, cream cheese, lime sherbert, lime wedges, pound cake, evaporated milk….   I not only had a "regular helping" I had a 2nd helping!!!!!!!

Where I succeeded.

I did the best I could. At home I ate as healthy as I could with what I had and …… I didn’t gain!!!

I went shopping yesterday and got low fat stuff (y'know dressing, cream cheese, coffee creamer, etc), and lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Some wraps for lunches.  This week will be easier.

I got a juicer!!  I ordered a juicing book from paperback swap. I also ordered from Amazon the one reccomended by Gayle.  I've already made some yummy fruit juice and my boys like it, even the the big boy (Tim).   Now to experiment with veggies.  The boys might not go for that.    I want it for ME.

Until next week.

The thoughts and reflections of a mom who loves being at home, and is doing all she has ever desired in her life..... Really... I love my life that much!

"And all thy sons shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of thy sons.
In righteousness shall thou be established."
