• Tuesday, June 5, 2007 - May Day Weigh In

Posted in Health

We went away for the weekend. We are back and I totally lost motivation.  I can't even seem to get motivated to keep up with my walking goals.   I figured hey I really don't need to lose THAT much.  I am ok the way I am.   And I am!  But, I have been creeping up.  I don't feel as good as I did when I was maintaining a good diet and walking almost daily.  (By diet I don't mean a "diet" in the usual sense of restrictive eating.  I mean a generally healthy way of eating.")

I was planning on deleting my May Day button and not blogging anymore about it. Then I was browsing this morning and read this.

If I don't get those lifestyle changes consistent.  I will just keep creeping back to the way I was. I can't believe I am going to do this but...... here are my  before - after pictures from a few years ago.

Quality is not good because these have been posted on my fridge for a few years.  Currently I don't look like the before.... but I would love to get back to the after.  .........  And I will!

So all that to say I have not gained..... but I have not lost either.  I set a new walking goal for June.... here it is the 5th, I better get started.

I also better blog about something more interesting than diets!!

Sounds like you are making the right decision. It's easy to letl those old habits come back in. You made a huge change before, so the small steps you take now should be really easy. Hope you hang in there with us!

I feel for you! I lost over 50 lbs in 2000. Walked at least 5 miles a day, ate right, rode my stationary bike if I had to....and then in 2002 I had Garet. Never really got the chance to walk like I used too. Then in 2005 I had Kaden. At the time we lived in a neighborhood that was amazing to go walking in...but we moved here-to the boonies...and with these two, and rocky roads, well, I have never gotten to get back to my walking. {sigh} I miss it SOOOO much! LOL So for the last month I have been riding that hated stationary bike again, and have gone back to eating "right". So far I have lost 8 pounds, so I know I should not complain, but geeeze-it came off so much faster when I could take the time to walk! :D I have not gained that much-and actually if I loose 7 more pounds I will be back to where I was in 2000, but it really is not fair. It is SOOOO easy to gain a few, but to take off a few-that is a lot of work!! Just remember though-once you get back into walking-you will be hooked like you were before...and then once you start "feeling good" you'll start looking forward to those walks again! Then you KNOW you have made it! Have a wonderful day!!!

Love your site, first time I've looked I think. Love your weight loss, love the pictures....of you and boys etc... I think my kitchen is the same color, "sunny yellow", I also used to have the same blue counter top it looks like too. Funny. Anyway, I'm at a stuck point too. Recently lost 24lbs, not gaining, not loosing right now...got to get one fruits and vegetables for a week, always gets me going again!

Thanks for sharing your "diet" posts - I think we all want to eat in a more healthy way and most of us want to lose a few#'s too! I enjoyed your Blog-

The thoughts and reflections of a mom who loves being at home, and is doing all she has ever desired in her life..... Really... I love my life that much!

"And all thy sons shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of thy sons.
In righteousness shall thou be established."
Is 54:13-14
