Well this week was very exciting! We completed 2 lapbooks!
Visit Canada Girl to join in on Show & Tell Fridays!
The first one is my almost 3 yo son. We did a counting and colour apples lapbook. I got the idea from homeschoolshare.com website. I love that site! I laminated the apples and added the colours to each on so he learn counting and colours. He loves doing this on his own or with me. After we did this I discovered he can already count to 20 with a little help and this only goes to 3, but he enjoys it and I can save it for my littlest bugaboo.

Then the second we did was with my oldest Bugaboo who is almost 6 yo. We based this lap book on a book by Dr. Sears. I really like it because I can teach and encourage healthy eating by saying it's a Red Light food or Yellow Light food and she understands now. Now it's not just mom saying you can't eat that it's not good for you. I think she gets it...and she points it out to daddy now too! It also makes me more aware of what I am eating so I am a good role model for her. We had fun doing this. Both kids made a Rainbow plate of food one morning and they loved doing this. We took a picture of the meal they made with all the colours on their plate and took a picture of it. We put it in the book. I also took a few ideas from homeschoolshare.com and integrated it with things we learned from the book.

I didn't think these were too bad for our first Lap Book experiences! But I have lots of ideas and its hard to get them all together to fit into the book! Oh well...I guess you get better at it the more you do!
One thing I couldn't figure out is do you put the book together and then do each activity with your child? Or do you do the teaching and activity and then put the book together when you are done everything? I would love some insight into some of you more experienced Lap Bookers!
Thanks for reading! |

Wow you are just starting your hs journey! I do remember the days when they were still playing under the table while I taught the older ones! Take time to enjoy each stage of the journey.
