Puppetools.com is a website dedicated to encouraging the use of puppets in all aspects of learning. They want you, the professional educator, to "master the principle of play".
Who doesn't like puppets? I know my kids enjoy playing with them for puppet skits at church. I haven't really given it much thought to using puppets for their regular schooling though. My kids (ages 5 - 15) each made a puppet and enjoyed the process, however, they only played with them for about 10 minutes, if that long. I think it would be good to have a "learning center" type area where they could cut and glue to make puppets to their hearts content. We aren't very creative, so thankfully there are lots of examples on the website. One perk is that they offer continuing education credit. I have no use for that right now, but I remember when I used to own a day care center that I needed credits and this would be a good place to get some. I would recommend puppetools to day care centers and also co-ops.
They also offer a trial subscription (60 days).
Unfortunately, this is not something I feel we would utilize in our homeschool, but I do appreciate all the work and dedication that was put into it.
