May. 25, 2009 - Do You Want A Friend? by Noel Piper Review
I received Do You Want A Friend? by Noel Piper to review for Crossway. Noel is the wife of John Piper, and they minister together in Minneapolis.
This book is geared for children ages 3-7. It begins with a little boy who moves to a new place. I think most of us can relate to having to pack up and move. Meeting new people is not always easy and leaving your friends can be difficult. He was lonely and he wanted a friend. He does find some friends and the question is asked, “Do you want a friend too?” As we read through the book, questions are asked and Scripture verses are there to answer those questions, to show you that Jesus is your friend, the best friend of all.
Also included is a song entitled “One There Is, Above All Others.” The Scripture quotations are from the English Standard Version. The illustrations are by Gail Schoonmaker and are very cute. This will make a good resource for our children’s area at church.
