The School Year That Would Not End...

...ended!  We will take a short break for 4 weeks now and start back up on July 9th.   If I can ever ever help it, I will never start in August again.  My style is definitely more year-round-school-with-lots-of-short-breaks.  I felt a tad pressured to get it all done this year.  Now I have some reports to fill in, send off, and we'll call this year DONE!   I usually like to start around July 4th, but last year we were still in China.  Too bad, Rachel and Mary Evely n weren't with us...I could have counted those days!

Big happenings for our break include learning how to use the Feingold program (maybe more on that later, but Feingold is a diet that eliminates certain preservatives and artificial colors, etc.).  We also have a family wedding in a few weeks.  I  will post some pictures of the beautiful flower girls afterward.    And maybe even one particular groomsman.

And a happy (very) belated 40th anniversary to my parents!   I couldn't get logged in to post on the big day, so this is late., but 40 years definitely deserves a little recognition!

Jun. 11, 2007 - I Do The Same Thing

Posted by Mamabearof5
When I first started homeschooling i vowed that we would not school all year round. I would stop in june and start again at the end of Augaust or early September. Well, as the years rolled by I now do the same as you do. We take alot of short breaks throughout the year and basically take the month of June off and start school back up in the middle or end of July. It's funny how those things change without you noticing, isn't it?
Have fun on your summer break :0)

Please post on your experience with Feingold. We are considering it as well. Would love to hear your opinions. homesklr@sbcglobal.net

About Me

Hello. My name is Jennifer and I am the very blessed mom of three little girls and the wife of a very loving husband. Our girls are all learning at home with me, but the oldest two are the ones that require lesson plans. (The littlest one is our busy toddler, adopted from China last year!) Thanks for stopping by!
