Psalms 55:22 - Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee; He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
I talked alot about why we homeschool and how it came about in the last assignment. I think for this assignment I will explain why we started to take the kids out sooner tha we had expected to.
When we first put our children into public school it was with a great sigh of relief and a feeling that I could get my family back under control. I volunteered in the school and gpt to know the vice-principal and some of the teachers very well. At the time our middle daughter was having problems with reading, She couldn't remember anything and was very frustrated! She was given some help and it seemed to go great for awhile.
As grade two approached things got worse and worse, they wanted to test her for learning problems (which do run in our family) and get he help. That's great we thought. Except the "list" she was on kept getting changed and no-one could tell me where on the list she was. As it turns out she kept falling behind because she couldn't keep up. They refused my request to keep her behind and let her redo the grade three times, it might hurt her and the social structure she was developing. Who cares about social structure when your child comes home everyday crying. What social structure is that?
We ended up getting her tested on our own, to find out she has mental problems with memory. We could work on that but the school needd their own testing. We think the memory problems stem from her development as an infant and nursing. So with nothing being done we talked and pulled her out of school and took her home to mend her spirit and her mind.
Last year, her first full year at home she was a completly changed little girl. She smiled and looked forward to school. She asked me one day why it was all easier when I taught her. I told her it was because I loved her more than any school teacher.
Now don't get me wrong it is not all a bed of roses, we have lots of ups and downs. But the improvment in her spirit and her outlook has made it all worth it! While dealing with this we also decided to bring the rest home as soon as possible. This will be the first year we have everyone home. We are loving it so far, I don't expect it to be perfect, but I do expect it to be a learning experience for the whole family!

This is our homeschool shelves. Everything is kept here. We use the A.C.E. program and love it for our family. It offers just what we need for our family. We do find that is misses some things that we want for our girls, so we add book reports, projects and field trips with our local homeschool group. We are looking forward to this year very much.

I had to include this, Hannah sending an e-mail to the Prime Minister of Canada.
Psalm 16:11~
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy;at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
