BFS #104 - Never Leave Home Without It!
leafed in Blooger Friend School
Memory Verse: Matthew 28: 20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even to the end of the world. Amen.
Assignment: In the memory verse Jesus tells us that He will never leave us, not even at the end of the world. He assures us in this verse that He will be with us and that means through everything we go through in life. I thought it would be interesting to write about the things we would never leave home without. For some it might be baby needs, others it might be a gym bag and bottle of water, and for some it might be your Bible and a notepad or small journal, maybe even your son or daughters favorite blankie! I’d like for you to write about something that you would never leave home without.
Yes! One that is easy for me! There are some out there who know me well and can vouch for this. I never leave home without a bag that contains some for of handwork. I have my knitting bag that is used for either crochet or knitting, and my cross-stitch bag that contains, well my cross-stitch. I always try to have something on the go. Thought last night I was unable to use it because tha lady I am making a baby blanket for showed up at the homeschool meeting. But I always like to have something to do if some downtime occurs or just to keep my hands occupied.
I used to bring a book too, but I haven't bought one for awhile.

I'm impressed that you can do your handiwork and still listen at a meeting.

that is so neat, I think that is wonderful that you can keep your mind on what is going on and still not lose count of stitches and such...I don't think I could do that...my mind gets too confused-guess it is old age? Not really, but it sounds like a good excuse!
Blessings,

Great idea...handiwork! I never learned to knit or crochet but I used to love cross-stitch. Maybe I will have to remember that and bring one along for those...just in case moments!

I always intend on doing this but I never seem to have the projects ready. I think I'm going to find a bag and get me a project to do while out.
Hope your enjoying the wonderful fall colors!

Great idea! Right now I almost never leave home without my kids, so having handwork is near impossible because I am usually using my hands to manage my children! LOL
Great idea for the future, though, when I'm not carrying a diaper bag everywhere. ;)

I don't like down time at all to. I don't knit, I use to cross stitch not sure why I stopped, when Faith was born, never finish her birth announcement. Sad when I think of the ones that I did for other children.

I love to knit and often take my socks with me. I sometimes think people are offended and think I'm not listening but I find that I listen better when my hands are busy (kinda like letting your child color during a read aloud).
