BFS #106 — Have It Your Way!
leafed in Blooger Friend School
Memory Verse: Isaiah 40: 1- Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
Intro: “Have It Your Way” (Burger King) - As cooler weather approaches and the winter eases into our doors I like to lounge by the fire after a hot shower. I love to make soups that are brimming with a rich and full flavor. In our home there’s nothing better than a hot bowl of soup or and a hot cup of coffee or cocoa on a cold winter night.
Assignment: Tell us all about how your have “your” relaxing time, more especially how during the cooler months you take time to curl up with your favorite movie, book, Bible study, and what your favorite warm drink would be.
My relaxing time....I have relaxing time? Just kidding. Most of my relaxing time comes in the evening. The last of the girls are in their rooms by 9 p.m. , they are sometimes allowed to read a bit longer but are in their rooms for the most part.
I used to soak in a nice hot bathtub with a christian romance book, but I used to have a large claw foot tub. Now I don't , so I sit on the couch and read with a warm blanket around me or do handwork (like crochet, knit or cross-stitch). At 10:00p.m. the news comes on and my hubby and I sit together and watch it or a sometimes we put on a dvd show like "The Waltons" or " The Andy Griffeth Show" and relax together. We usually will have a warm cup of Apple cider or A hot cup of regular tea or coffe for my hubby. Sometimes If my hubby is out he will bring me a cup of tea or hot chocolate back from our local Tim Hortons coffe shop. Yummy. But that is a treat.
But that really sums it up. The relaxing is done in our living room for the most part either together or at least in the same room, and just persuing interests that we don't always find time for in the general run of the day. But the fun part is doing them together.
Ecclesiastes 4:11 ......But how can one be warm alone?

I had to share this picture. We recently went to Ross Farm museum with the girls. It is set up as it was in the 1800's I believe. this is the fire that is in the kitchen. They really cook over it with large cast iron pots and bake things also. It was so inviting and warming on the cold drizzely day that we were there.

I love The Waltons and Andy Griffith shows...also Little House, Ponderosa, Big Valley and Gunsmoke. We have a wood stove so I love the hot flaming fires with a cup of coffee or cocoa, occasionally tea of some flavor too. Mostly I just love the fire and the smell from it. Thank you for sharing.

It's just more relaxing sitting around when you know your family is all under the roof, isn't it? :) (esp. when all the ones under 18 are in bed for the night!!)

I enjoy the older shows too. Little House was always my favorite as a kid. Who could forget the Darlins and Earnest T from Andy Griffith :) Great photo! Blessings! ~ Nikki
