Keeping Holiday ~ A Book Review

leafed in Fun

Keeping Holiday ~ by Starr Meade

Starr Maede has created a wonderful story that we can all share with our families and diciver along with the main character how God brings a person to faith.

Dylan loves his family’s yearly vacation to Holiday and wishes it could last all year. When he finds a flyer asking if he’d like to keep Holiday, he encounters a bigger and and better Holiday than the one his family has always visited; he also learns that entering requires the Founder’s authorization. Thus begins Dylan’s quest to meet the one of whom people keep saying: “You can’t find the Founder; he finds you. He’s not just the Founder; he’s the Finder too.”

As Dylan reads of Holidays origins, he experiences a number of adventures and meets characters who represent the sights and sounds he always finds in holiday-characters who explain how each of these familiarities points to the Founders previous rescue of the city’s inhabitants. And the more Dylan learns, the more he longs to personally know the one who holds the key to entering the “real Holiday”

What a privilege to read this book! It was very hard to put down. A book filled with tenderhearted children in search of good and trying not to be lead astray. A book filled with wonderful descriptions of the Founder and all he faced and gave because of his love for the people of Holiday. I enjoyed reading the descriptive passages; I could have closed my eyes and imagined each scene that Dylan made his way through. The friends he met that helped him along his journey and the struggles he faced as he struggled to continue on.

I would recommend this book to all, young and young at heart. To all of those searching for the true Founder, may your search end as profitable as Dylan’s
