BFS #106 — Have It Your Way!

Memory Verse: Isaiah 40: 1- Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
Intro: “Have It Your Way” (Burger King) - As cooler weather approaches and the winter eases into our doors I like to lounge by the fire after a hot shower. I love to make soups that are brimming with a rich and full flavor. In our home there’s nothing better than a hot bowl of soup or and a hot cup of coffee or cocoa on a cold winter night.
Assignment: Tell us all about how your have “your” relaxing time, more especially how during the cooler months you take time to curl up with your favorite movie, book, Bible study, and what your favorite warm drink would be.
"Relaxing Time" ~ Hmmmm, what is that???? Sometimes there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to "relax"! LOL! But when I can take time to just sit and do "nothing", I like to sit curled up on the couch, with a good book, a cup of hot coffee, and a quilt. Sometimes I like to knit, crochet, or work on a cross-stitch project as well.
We used to have our wood stove in the livingroom ~ which made it nice and cozy. Sitting in front of the fire, watching the flames through the glass was one of my favorite things to do, but since we installed a wood boiler in the basement, the wood stove was no longer needed. :o( Even though the stove is messy, I miss it sometimes! There is nothing like curling up in front of the fire with a good book and a soft, warm quilt wrapped around you, and a hot drink!

I think we share more than just our name - I like to relax the same way! I'm working on my assignment now, and my response is very similar!

Congrats on getting up there first! Your blog is so sweet. I'm very sad to hear you lost your wood stove in the living room. We're hoping to get an electric fireplace for our living room, for the ambiance. Blessings!

Oh, I love our wood stove! It is messy, for sure, but there's no other warmth that can compare to a roaring fire. I love my coffee too. Thank you for sharing.

I know what you mean! I'd love to have a fireplace. Maybe if we ever build... But anyway, your spot does sound cozy, even without the fire.

Relaxing is not something that comes easy in our house either-have to fight for it! :-)

Oh, I agree about the woodstove! I actually wrote a little about ours and as I wrote I was remembering all the times I would sit in front of the old thing just gazing at the flames. Sigh. We replaced it with a glass-fronted pellet stove -- which was such a wonderful change from splitting kindling every morning -- but it just wasn't the same.
Now, we don't really have need of it, but sometimes I wish we had a fireplace -- just so I could look at the flames! ;^)
